Dance and somatics Virtual reality Accessible immersive practice

Historical research

Observation, agency and being read by others.

Stranger explored surveillance, identity and the experience of being read by others through dance, somatic practice and VR.

The 2021 process was developed with 15 Associate Artists from Access All Areas Theatre in East London. It generated practical learning about accessible immersive practice, agency, confidence and connection.

How the research worked

Participants combined somatic and dance exercises with VR encounters, testing how virtual space could support choice, bodily awareness and connection.
